Carbon steel pipes are expertly categorized into two primary types: hot-rolled and cold-rolled (drawn) steel pipes, each with unique characteristics.

Hot-rolled carbon steel pipes offer a versatile range, including general steel pipes, low and medium pressure boiler steel pipes, high pressure boiler steel pipes, alloy, stainless steel pipes, petroleum cracking pipes, and geological steel pipes, amongst others.

Cold-rolled (pulled) carbon steel pipes extend beyond general steel pipes, incorporating low and medium pressure boiler steel pipes, high pressure varieties, alloy, stainless, petroleum cracking pipes, and an array of specialized pipes like thin-walled carbon and alloy steel pipes, non-rust options, and uniquely-shaped designs. For hot-rolled seamless pipes, expect an outer diameter greater than 32mm with a wall thickness of 2.5-75mm, while cold-rolled seamless pipes can boast diameters as small as 6mm and wall thicknesses down to 0.25mm. Thin-walled pipes reach an outer diameter of 5mm and a wall thickness under 0.25mm. Cold rolling assures superior dimensional accuracy compared to hot rolling.

General carbon steel pipes are crafted using premium materials such as 10, 20, 30, 35, 45, and other high-quality carbon steels like 16Mn, 5MnV, or even alloy steels like 40Cr, 30CrMnSi, 45Mn2, and 40MnB, whether hot-rolled or cold-rolled. Low carbon steel variants like 10 and 20 are primarily utilized in fluid transportation pipelines, while medium carbon steel types like 45 and 40Cr find applications in manufacturing mechanical components, including automotive and tractor stressed parts. These pipes are selected for their robustness and ability to pass stringent strength and flattening tests. Hot-rolled pipes are available in hot-rolled or heat-treated conditions, whereas cold-rolled pipes are provided exclusively in heat-treated states.
