2. Corrosion Resistance
The demand for excellent corrosion resistance is paramount in stainless steel products, particularly for Class I and II tableware, kitchen utensils, water heaters, and water dispensers. International clients often conduct stringent corrosion resistance tests, such as boiling a NACL aqueous solution, followed by washing and drying to assess weight loss and corrosion levels. Note: During testing, Fe content in polishing cloths or sandpaper can lead to surface rust spots.
3. Polishing Performance
In the contemporary manufacturing landscape, the majority of stainless steel products undergo a meticulous polishing process, with few exceptions like water heater and water dispenser liners. Consequently, the raw material's polishing performance must be exceptional. Key factors influencing this include:
(1) Surface defects in raw materials, including scratches, pitting, and pickling.
(2) Raw material hardness issues. Suboptimal hardness complicates the polishing process (compromising the BQ property), whereas excessive softness can cause orange peel effects during deep drawing, affecting the BQ property. High hardness ensures improved BQ properties.
(3) For deep-drawn products, extensive deformation can lead to small black spots and RIDGING on the surface, impairing BQ performance.
4. Heat Resistance
Heat resistance is the ability of stainless steel to retain its superior physical and mechanical properties even at elevated temperatures.
Influence of Carbon: Carbon is a potent element that forms and stabilizes austenite, expanding its region in austenitic stainless steels. With austenite-forming capabilities approximately 30 times that of nickel, carbon significantly enhances the strength of austenitic stainless steel through solid solution strengthening. Additionally, carbon boosts the stress corrosion resistance in high chloride concentrations (e.g., 42% MgCl2 boiling solution).
