1. Weldability
The welding performance varies based on product application. For certain items, such as a range of tableware and some cookware, welding may not be critical. However, for a multitude of other products, exemplary welding performance is essential-think of the superior craftsmanship required for second-class tableware, thermos cups, steel pipes, water heaters, and water dispensers.
2. Corrosion resistance
In the world of stainless steel, corrosion resistance is paramount, especially for products like Class I and II tableware, kitchen utensils, water heaters, and water dispensers. Some international clients even conduct rigorous corrosion tests, such as immersing the product in boiling NACL aqueous solution. After a defined period, the solution is drained, and the product is washed, dried, and weighed to assess corrosion levels. A note of caution: polished products may develop surface rust spots during testing due to Fe content residue in abrasives.
3. Polishing performance
In our modern age, the aesthetic appeal of stainless steel is heightened through polishing. While some products, like the interiors of water heaters and dispensers, may forego polishing, the raw materials must offer exceptional polishing performance for others. The quality of polishing is influenced by several factors including:
(1) Surface defects in the raw materials, such as scratches, pitting, and pickling, which can detract from the final finish.
(2) Material hardness issues, where low hardness hinders the polishing process (resulting in poor BQ properties) and too low hardness risks surface defects like orange peel during deep drawing. Conversely, higher hardness can enhance BQ properties.
(3) For products undergoing deep drawing, imperfections such as small black spots and RIDGING can form in highly deformed areas, impacting the BQ performance.
4. Heat resistance
Our stainless steel maintains its superior physical and mechanical properties even at elevated temperatures, showcasing remarkable heat resistance.
Influence of carbon: Carbon is a critical element, vigorously stabilizing and expanding the austenite phase in austenitic stainless steels. Its ability to form austenite is significantly stronger-about 30 times that of nickel. As an interstitial element, carbon fortifies the strength of austenitic stainless steel through solid solution strengthening, and enhances its stress corrosion resistance, particularly in highly concentrated chloride environments like a 42% MgCl2 boiling solution.
