Main Features
1. Weldability
Different product uses demand unique welding capabilities. While some items, like certain tableware or specific cookware manufacturers, may not prioritize welding capabilities, a majority of products, including second-class tableware, thermos flasks, steel pipes, water heaters, and dispensers, require exceptional weldability in the materials used.
2. Corrosion resistance
In the realm of stainless steel products, superior corrosion resistance is often crucial. This is especially true for Class I and II tableware, kitchen tools, water heaters, and dispensers. International clients may conduct rigorous corrosion resistance tests: they apply a NACL solution, heat it to a boil, then cool and remove it before washing, drying, and weighing the product to assess corrosion levels. Note: During polishing, iron in abrasive cloth or sandpaper can lead to rust spots.
3. Polishing performance
In our modern world, the polishing of stainless steel during production is commonplace. However, some exceptions like water heater and dispenser liners exist. Therefore, outstanding polishing performance is essential. Key influencing factors include:
(1) Surface imperfections of raw materials, such as scratches, pitting, and pickling, can affect polish quality.
(2) Material hardness challenges. Low hardness can hinder effective polishing and may cause an orange peel effect during deep drawing, impacting BQ properties. Conversely, high hardness tends to enhance BQ characteristics.
(3) Deep-drawn products may exhibit small black spots and ridging in highly deformed areas, adversely affecting BQ performance.
4. Heat resistance
Heat resistance signifies the ability of stainless steel to retain its superior physical and mechanical properties even in high-temperature environments.
Influence of carbon: Carbon plays a pivotal role in enhancing austenitic stainless steels. As a potent element for forming and stabilizing austenite, it expands the austenite region significantly-about 30 times more effectively than nickel. This interstitial element substantially boosts the strength of austenitic stainless steel through solid solution strengthening and enhances stress corrosion resistance in highly concentrated chloride environments, such as a 42% MgCl2 boiling solution.
