According to production and processing methods, it can be divided into the following categories:
1. Hot Dip Galvanized Steel Sheet: This involves immersing the sheet steel in a molten zinc bath, resulting in a robust layer of zinc on the surface. Currently, the dominant method used is continuous galvanizing, where rolled steel is persistently submerged in a tank of molten zinc, ensuring a resilient and durable galvanized steel sheet.
2. Alloyed Galvanized Steel Sheet: Crafted using the hot-dip method, this steel plate is heated to around 500 ºC post-dipping to form an alloy film of zinc and iron. This sheet boasts superior paint adhesion and enhanced weldability, making it a versatile choice for various applications.
3. Electro-Galvanized Steel Sheet: Produced via an electroplating method, this type offers exceptional workability. Although the coating is thinner, resulting in less corrosion resistance compared to hot-dip alternatives, it remains a practical option for many uses.
4. Single-Sided and Double-Sided Differential Galvanized Steel: Single-sided sheets are galvanized on only one side, offering greater adaptability in welding, painting, and anti-rust treatment compared to their double-sided counterparts. Double-sided differential sheets, however, feature a thin zinc layer on the opposite side, addressing the one-sided coating limitation.
5. Alloy and Composite Galvanized Steel Sheet: These sheets are crafted with zinc blended with metals like aluminum and lead, resulting in alloys or composite-plated sheets. This variety offers outstanding anti-rust and coating qualities, ensuring longevity and performance.
In addition to these five primary types, there are colored, printed, and painted galvanized steel sheets, as well as PVC laminated options. Nonetheless, hot-dip galvanized sheets remain the most prevalent choice due to their reliable performance.
