3. Polishing Performance
In today's design-forward world, the allure of stainless steel is found in its smooth, polished finish, a standard for most production lines, save for specialty items like water heater and dispenser linings. (1) Raw material surface imperfections, such as scratches, pitting, and pickling, which must be mitigated.
(2) Challenges related to raw material properties. Inadequate hardness hinders polishing due to poor BQ properties, while excessively soft materials can cause an orange peel effect during deep drawing, thus reducing BQ quality. Therefore, achieving optimal hardness is vital for enhanced BQ characteristics.
(3) In deep-drawn products, the presence of small black spots and RIDGING in highly deformed areas can negatively impact BQ performance.
